Beautiful Losers

beautiful_title

This documentary follows the lives and careers of a collective group of Do-it-yourself artists and designers who inadvertently affected the art world. In the 1990s, a loose-knit group of American artists and creators, many just out of their teens, began their careers, many had no formal training and almost no conception of the inner workings of the art world. They learned their crafts through practice, trial and error, and good old-fashioned innovation. The story of the Beautiful Losers will be a retrospective celebration of this spirit.

I believe the best places to see Graffiti Art are in the streets of New York & L.A. , although – one will see some of the best forms of graffiti art usually in ghetto’s , and the slum neighborhoods of any city ( country ) . I prefer people using their inner creativity within extolling their anger, fears & frustrations rather than to see them destroying themselves through other means . Aside from that , Graffiti is an ancient art form used since pre historic times , when man dwelled in caves and etched carvings into stone walls . I dont understand why people find it repulsive & offensive in todays day & age . Art is Art – regardless of what form it may come in .

    Great post Franco 🙂

Great collection of documentaries here. Street art is really evolving, but I would have to agree with Mia that some of the best graffiti art can be found in NY or LA.
