In this ration of inspiration I want to share with you 2 videos I found on Vimeo. Both of them are about calligraphy, something that in the past year I learned to love and that I want to explore even further when I have some free time.

I found this excellent video on Vimeo showing us the Birth of a book using traditional printing methods. Done for the Daily Telegraph. Shot at Smith-Settle Printers, Leeds, England. The book being printed is Suzanne St Albans’ ‘Mango and Mimosa’ published as part of the Slightly Foxed series.

It has been a while since I wrote a design article, I think this is a great way to get back on “the blogging side” of design. I’d just finished a job for a client that consisted in Logo design, some printed material, and a website, we may say the complete brand.

In my first guest post on this blog, I wrote on the positive use of negative space in logo design. I discussed the concept of using empty spaces to make creative shapes around subject of an image.

Clothes were made initially to keep us warm and also function as a form of protection. However, since then it has evolve beyond being something we wear, it is now a fashion that reflects the taste and style of an individual, the different fashion style we choose also helps us identify ourselves.

Minimalist movie posters aren’t anything new, but they have grown in popularity over the past year or so. If you compare the first “Scream” poster to the latest one you can see the variation in the design. The latest “Scream” poster only dawned the minimal mask with a knife tip rather than putting the face of every star on the cover.
